Ash Wednesday Service

March 5th at 6PM

March 5th @ 6P

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent, a time of prayer, of fasting, self-reflection, and preparation for the Easter.

For hundreds of years, the Church has celebrated the Easter Season (known as Lent) from Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday. Similar to how Advent prepares us for Christmas Day, Lent helps Christians align themselves with the rhythm of Jesus’ death and resurrection — they would pray and fast (death), then they would gather for a communion feast (resurrection).

Lent is deeply symbolic for us as we prepare for Easter. We move from the darkness of Winter to the light of Spring, from barren snow to blooming flowers, from hibernation to awakening, and from death to life. We are invited to transform our lives for the Lenten season just as Winter transforms into Spring.

We invite you to join us in this meaningful service.
